Almost all speech-language pathologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists (SLPs, PTs and OTs) have graduate degrees, thus it would be easy to assume they are trained uniformly within their disciplines.
There is such a diverse field of practice for SLPs, PTs, and OTs, that is impossible for a few years of education to encompass every area of practice. Thus, many daily-use, clinical skills are developed through professional workshops and classes, collectively referred to as "continuing education," in which a practitioner can focus more precisely on a specific client population and their needs.
